The Semester is Ending

The semester is ending
And I am fading away
Into the dark, cold corner
I hate to say bye

It is getting near
Oh, how I wish to stay
Never to start running
Hardened by the dents incurred

Shy, I am no longer
Getting stronger in will
Making sensible decisions
Closer to achieving unity

Interrupted at times
Yearning to reach out
From my contemplative soul
Into the being that cares

Change of address

My new posts shall be made available on a new URL: http://rationaljoel.blogspot.com/. This is due to the fact that Blogger supports only the editing the most recent 300 posts. For the record, this will be my 300th! Hurrah!

Philippine Society and Revolution

Do you love the Philippines? Do you sincerely love it and its inhabitants, the Filipinos? If yes, then I call you to read Amado Guerrero's Philippine Society and Revolution.

I'm supposed to make a book review on this historical book. May it go well with me and with every Filipino!

Election Lessons

I learned several things from running and losing in an organizational election. Some of these are:
1. Don't run if you don't think you have a chance of winning.
2. Don't run if you had a bad showing.
3. Don't run if you weren't decided to do so a long time before.
4. Run for experience if you haven't done it at all.
5. Run if you think you can serve the system well.
6. Prepare a very long and complete General Program of Action.
7. Be ready for organizational issues. You have to be very involved to know them and therefore be ready with questions concerning them.
8. You must prepare a speech. This is important!
9. Rest and be relaxed before speaking in front of a crowd.
10. Don't mind people if they are not interested in listening to you.
11. Run only if you believe in the system.
12. Fix yourself before trying to fix others.
13. Don't run if you can't align yourself to the old system. Otherwise, you'll surely lose.
14. Accept a loss and strengthen yourself and your personality.
15. With all of the confusion around you, have a sound piece of mind and think clearly and according to your principles in life.

Self-judgment

"Let others but not yourself judge you lest you become biased and then vain or bitter." -- Joel Duque

The point
